Year 6 Embark on Exciting Adventure to Naples!

Last week, Year 6 pupils headed on an exciting educational adventure to Naples, Italy. The trip, designed to immerse students in Italian culture and history, was a memorable experience filled with learning and exploration.
Upon landing in Naples, students were immediately introduced to the city's rich history through a walking tour, which included a visit to the fascinating Lapis Underground Museum. This unique museum offered a glimpse into the ancient underground world of Naples, sparking curiosity and discussion amongst the group.
The following day, the group took a ferry to the idyllic island of Capri. They enjoyed a scenic boat ride around the island, taking in breathtaking views and learning about its geography. The experience allowed students to appreciate the natural beauty of the Italian coastline while reflecting on the region's cultural significance.
On day three, the pupils took on a physical challenge as they hiked up Mount Vesuvius. The climb, while demanding, was met with enthusiasm and determination. Reaching the summit offered a sense of accomplishment and a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape. Later that afternoon, the group visited Pompeii, where they participated in a guided tour of the ancient ruins. The tour highlighted the city's tragic history while demonstrating Roman life's remarkable preservation.
The final day of the trip focused on Italian culinary traditions. Year 6 visited a working family farm, where they learnt how to make mozzarella cheese from scratch and even had the opportunity to create their own pizzas. This hands-on activity fostered a deeper appreciation for local food culture and allowed the students to develop practical skills in the kitchen.
Throughout the trip, pupils gained insights into Italy's history and geography and honed valuable skills in independence, collaboration, and problem-solving. Their positive attitudes and willingness to embrace new experiences were commendable, making the trip an outstanding success.
