Lingfield College Unveils New Dining Hall
A Modern, Welcoming Space for the School Community
We are delighted to officially open our newly refurbished Senior School Dining Hall, marking a significant milestone in the school’s ongoing development.
The redevelopment has transformed the Dining Hall into a modern, bright, spacious, and welcoming environment designed to enhance the dining experience for students. The improved layout ensures a relaxed and sociable atmosphere, while the contemporary design and natural light create an inviting space where students and staff can enjoy their lunches in comfort.
Behind the scenes, the transformation extends to the kitchens, where catering staff now benefit from a more efficient and spacious working environment, enabling them to continue providing high-quality meals for the school community. The refurbished space now includes dedicated hot food areas, a fresh salad bar, a dessert station, and homemade soups, ensuring a varied and nutritious offering for students and staff every day.

The redevelopment was made possible through the collaboration of Uprise, who managed the project; Habitat+ architects, who designed the space; and Catersales, who supplied high-quality catering equipment for the interiors.
Today, we marked the completion of the four-month refurbishment with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by staff, students and key project partners. During the event, Headmaster Richard Bool spoke about the significance of investing in school facilities.
We are delighted to officially open our fantastic new Dining Hall. Whilst functional, our former Dining Hall was not ideal, and it was clear we needed a refurbished, modern, efficient space that better suited the needs of our school community.
Richard Bool, headmaster
He added: “This redevelopment is more than just a refurbishment—it’s a reimagining of what school dining should be. Mealtimes are an important part of the school day, offering students and staff a chance to recharge, socialise, and enjoy healthy food in a comfortable setting. This investment makes that possible.
I am very grateful to our project partners - Habitat+, Uprise, and Catersales - for bringing this vision to life. Their expertise and careful planning have delivered a beautifully designed, modern dining space that will benefit students for years to come. A special thank you also goes to our dedicated Holroyd Howe team, who have worked tirelessly to provide meals in the marquee throughout the redevelopment works. Their commitment ensured that our students continued to receive high-quality meals despite the temporary disruption."

Sustainable Design and Long-Term Vision
The redevelopment has enhanced the dining experience and prioritised sustainability. The new Dining Hall incorporates energy-efficient lighting and ventilation, ensuring a comfortable environment while reducing long-term operating costs.
Beyond daily use, the versatile space will also serve as a venue for breakfasts, open events, and interval refreshments for school productions. Additionally, it will be available for external hire, ensuring the wider community can benefit from this state-of-the-art facility.
