From Nursery to Reception

Being familiar and comfortable with your surroundings is key to a smooth and worry-free transition. Our Nursery and Reception classrooms are located next to each other in the same building with an adjoining play area, and the Head of Early Years (Academic) oversees the learning in both groups. During their time at Nursery, the children have lots of opportunities to meet their future teachers and visit the Reception classrooms, which aren't dissimilar in layout and size. When the children leave the Nursery to start Reception, they know the teachers, learning approach and social areas, and have made friends already. We will always keep a close eye on your children as they make this important transition, and we make every effort for it to be as seamless and exciting as possible.
