Music Teacher - Maternity Cover from January to August 2026
We are seeking to appoint an innovative and well-qualified teacher who can teach Music to GCSE and A level. The successful candidate should be a motivated and self-reflective professional who is capable of working independently and as part of a team.
The Music Department, based within a state-of-the-art Performing Arts Centre, is a constant hive of activity. Led by the Director of Music, it is staffed by an Assistant Director of Music, a Music Administrator, and a team of 20+ peripatetic instrumental teachers.
You will be required to plan and teach Key Stage 3 Music lessons covering music theory, performance and composition projects across a wide variety of genres, as well as deliver lessons in all modules for AQA GCSE syllabus. A knowledge of Edexcel A Level Music including Bach Chorale Harmony and techniques is highly desirable. As part of this role, you will accompany, rehearse and prepare students for GCSE and A Level performance exams and concerts. Contribution to extra curricular is key and you will assist the Director of Music in the preparation of all the Department’s concerts and productions.

Singing Teacher - Prep
Lingfield College Prep Music Department is seeking a passionate and skilled peripatetic Singing Teacher to work in our Prep School, starting October 2025. For the right candidate there may be the option of a January start.
The ideal candidate will be able to teach individual lessons in all grades from beginner to advanced and will be comfortable teaching both ABRSM Singing for Musical Theatre exams as well as the Singing performance and practical grades. In addition to teaching and preparing Prep School pupils for exams and performances, the role will involve running weekly choir groups at the Prep School, as well as writing reports, attending evening concerts and INSET courses when required.
The role is currently for one full day of teaching, although this could expand and split over two days, and the hourly rate of pay is £46 per hour.
