Year 9 Set Sail in Tall Ships Sailing Trip

Organised by Tall Ships Youth Trust – a charity dedicated to empowering young people to fulfil their potential through adventures at sea - the trip gave our students an exciting opportunity to sail a 72ft Challenger Yacht.

Throughout the fun-packed day, our students developed team building skills, built confidence as they learnt all the aspects of sailing the Challenger and worked collaboratively as a unit using essential communication and listening skills.

The trip also included fun competitions such as timed sail hoists, sail changes, person overboard pick-ups and pole climbing to make the trip an entertaining and memorable learning experience for our Year 9 students.

For any year 11s interested in sailing there is another trip planned in October where students will again have the opportunity to sail in a Challenger yacht.

At Lingfield College we are committed to offering our students an exciting range of experiences and activities that will widen their knowledge, whether that be through our extensive Co-Curricular programme or by offering exciting learning opportunities outside the classroom.
