U11s Secure Bronze Medals at ISA National Hockey Tournament
On Tuesday, the U11A team travelled to the Lee Valley Hockey Centre at Olympic Park for the ISA National Hockey Tournament.
The team was amongst several strong teams in the group stage, with only the top team advancing to the Cup competitions. It was a positive start to the day with a 2-0 win over Crackley Hall. The girls secured a second 2-0 win against Finborough School, with goals coming from Elsa and Polly. The final group stage match saw a tie against Wycliffe, putting Lingfield on 11 points and advancing through to the cup competition.
The first of three matches in the cup round ended in a draw against Cricklade. In the second match, the team were under pressure as they came up against Cundall Manor, but the girls came through with a 1-0 win. The team played St Mary's for the 3rd and 4th place playoff. It was a tough match but the girls pulled through with a last-second goal securing 3rd place in the cup competition.
The team worked hard all day and we are incredibly proud of them all. A well-deserved medal!
