Senior Music Scholarship

External candidates must be registered for a place at the School before commencing a Scholarship application.



Please ensure you have all the necessary supporting documentation before submitting the application form.  All applications will be considered by our Director of Music. 



If required, an accompanist will be provided by Lingfield Music Department. All candidates will have an opportunity for a short practice session before the audition.

Standards Required/Audition Requirements

Option 1: Scholars should be able to play on one main instrument (including voice) to a standard which may be the equivalent of:

• 11 entry - Grade 4 ABRSM /Trinity or equivalent
• 13 entry - Grade 5 ABRSM /Trinity or equivalent.

Applicants are expected to perform two contrasting pieces on their main instrument. They should also be able to talk about their musical interests and what they can offer the Music Department. (cont’d)

Option 2:
Scholars should be able to play on two instruments (one of which can be voice) to a standard which may be the equivalent of:

• 11 entry - Grade 3 on both instruments
• 13 entry - Grade 4 on principal instrument and Grade 3 on second instrument.

Applicants are expected to perform two contrasting pieces on their main instrument. They should also be able to talk about their musical interests and what they can offer the Music Department.

The Music Department looks for musical potential, ability, plus corresponding examination certificates. An enthusiasm for Music, love of performing and willingness to participate in School Musical Life are essential. Applications for a Music Scholarship can only be made by completing and submitting this application form.
